Morning Worship - 10.30 am
Worship at Bethany is an incredible experience. More than a song and a sermon - we gather each week to lift our voices together to God and hear from Him through music and His Word. Bethany’s style is decidedly contemporary, but we're grounded in the timeless teaching of scripture.

Here at Bethany Christian Centre we are passionate about many things, passionate about God, passionate about worship, passionate about people…but passion without purpose is a waste of time and energy!

Bethany’s Purpose
When we look to the purpose and vision of the church, we look first to Scripture. Acts 2:42-47 tells us of the passions of the first century church and we believe God desires us to function as the Body of Christ (how Jesus and the Bible often refer to “the church”) in exactly the same way.

It is the vision of the leadership of Bethany Christian Centre that we should be a church committed to five core principles:

Discipleship - committed to God
The New Testament church was devoted to knowing and proclaiming God’s word - it was the foundation for all they did! We want to be people committed to God’s word and God’s way –making it the heart of everything we do.

Worship - relating to God
Worship is so much more than singing a few songs. We know from the Bible that worship is to be a lifestyle that glorifies God at all times. When we gather together for worship, we are celebrating the forgiveness of sins and hope we have in Christ, and identifying ourselves with Him in all ways.

Community - relating to one another
A community of faith is not a social club. The Bible shows us that Christians reach out not only when it's easy or convenient, but that God is concerned with how we care for all people, including the poor, the oppressed, the disenfranchised and the destitute.

Ministry - using our gifts and resources to meet real needs.
The early church helped others as they had need. Through our ongoing ministries and special opportunities we are consistently reaching out to others to meet practical needs and share the love of Christ.

Evangelism - reaching and telling others about Jesus.
As people who have experienced the grace and mercy of a loving God we don’t want to keep it to ourselves. Sharing with people how God has worked in our lives and how He can change theirs.

In practice this means: -

Worshipping God…

  • We seek to be a community where God is worshipped, honoured and obeyed.

Changing Lives…

  • We seek to be a centre for preaching and teaching which is both Biblical, bang up to date and which builds up His Church and reaches the “lost world” around us so that people can find faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord.
  • We seek to be a church whose members love one another in actions and words. To develop people’s gifts, and to encourage their personal spiritual growth towards maturity.

Building Community…

  • We seek to build bridges of love and friendship between one another and into our community so that we may share the message of Jesus with as many as possible.
  • We want to be a focal point in the local community for all age groups where social concern and Christian love in action are displayed as part of our outreach.
